Okay, what a day! Yes, most of The Ultimate Doctor Who Art Auction ended today, and yes it’s raised over a grand so far, but hold the phones, stop the presses, and wait a moment! That’s NOT the biggest Dr Who news of the day.
Put quite simply, I met one of THE biggest Dr Who stars of recent years today, when a stroke of luck put me in the right place at the right time to meet Amy Pond herself, the awesome Karen Gillan! I’m pretty proud that I didn’t turn into a gibbering wreck, but instead managed to get two Xmas Cards signed for auction later in the year, a truly awesome addition to the auctions
Seriously AWESOME. I have to say, she was lovely with those fans who clocked her (most seemed more interested in chasing Gary Hooper) and I was delighted to get a photo with her.
It’s safe to say it was one of the most awesome celeb meets I have had.
Away from that, the Dr Who Art Auction is climbing, even with most items finished, and the figure has crossed the £1000 mark (prior to eBay/Paypal fees etc) and with more auctions ending in the next 24 hours and more items going online tomorrow, I’m hoping it climbs even higher before the next donation is made. Safe to say I will be busy packing up sales tomorrow and getting them to the post office on Monday
Away from the excitement of getting Karen, I missed some other footy related items, but who cares eh? I did manage to get both Jamie Langfield and Jim Leighton to sign goalie gloves for auction, and Aberdeen, Manchester United and Scotland legend Leighton was
kind enough to pose for this photo outside Celtic Park today.
I also added some Xmas cards to the pot from John Hartson which was a nice bonus.
There are still 108 items online as I write this, and you can find them @ THIS BIG SHINY LINK HERE – CLICK TO FIND OUT MORE
