The Pumas Team Photo – September 2006
In September 2006 I took part in my first ever major charity event – Trek Peru in aid of Cancer Research UK. From Lima to Cusco, into the Andes and ending at the amazing Incan ruins at Machu Picchu.
Peru was at the time, and remains to this date one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Under the rather manic guidance of Max Milligan we trod a path through the country which took us well off the beaten track. At heights of 4500metres I don’t mind admitting I suffered, but the photographs from that peak more than made up for it. That final climb towards the Sun Gate before a rather emotional medal presentation to all involved as we looked down on the ruins was something which will always stay with me. Could you really get any better than one of the true wonders of the world? I’ll tell what – I’m going to find out…
King of the World at 15000 feet up!
